The Story of Paige and Peacock
The story of Paige and Peacock Event Design began when founder Melissa (Paige) Fendley discovered her passion for design through the world of weddings and events in Halifax, Nova Scotia. What started as a love of creative details quickly became a calling to design celebrations that feel personal, meaningful, and effortlessly elegant.
Rooted in Creativity & Family Tradition
Melissa was born into a family of multi-generational entrepreneurs — spanning fashion, interiors, and, most prominently, flowers. As a fifth-generation florist and seasoned hospitality professional, she has an eye for beauty and a heart for service. Her natural blend of creativity and organization made event design an instinctive evolution of her craft.
A Passion Turned Profession
From 2006 to 2012, Melissa built a thriving career as a Catering Manager and Event Coordinator in Halifax, where she discovered her love for bringing her clients’ visions to life. She found joy in balancing logistics with creativity — designing spaces that were not only beautiful, but also flowed seamlessly from ceremony to celebration. It was during these years that Paige and Peacock began to take shape: a company built on thoughtful design, smooth coordination, and heartfelt hospitality.
How Paige and Peacock Took Flight
In 2009, Paige and Peacock officially launched as a décor and DIY wedding planning support business. The response was immediate, and by 2011, the company had expanded to include consulting, partial planning, and event coordination. The most exciting transformation came in 2015, when Melissa returned to her floral roots and introduced full-service wedding floral design — making Paige and Peacock the first in the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) to offer a complete wedding design experience under one roof.
